Namun masih ada beberapa permasalahan yang ada antara lain: kebakaran, sampah dan banjir yang merupakan ciri khas di daerah perkotaan.Tandasnya lebih jauh mengungkapkan “Pemerintah Kota Madiun pasti juga pikirkan resiko – resiko itu ketika kota terus berkembang “.

Kelurahan Pangongangan berada tepat di pusat Kota Madiun, selain permasalahan kepadatan penduduk juga masalah sampah rumah tangga yang semakin banyak. Bila tidak dikelola dengan baik tentu akan menyebabkan kerugian besar. “Kalau banyak sampah di saluran air, menyebabkan genangan air, penyakit, mengotori lingkungan juga bau yang tidak sedap” tandasnya.
Lanjutnya Sugeng menghimbau untuk warga kelurahan Pangongangan untuk senantiasa menjaga dan merawat lingkungan , melaluibudaya buang sampah pada tempatnya, mendaur ulang sampah serta membersihkan saluran pembuangan air secara berkala.
